The Galley of Naples: Finding a Niche

Business - how to stay successful by finding your niche and keeping hold of it. One place in Naples, Florida, called the Galley, did just that. It is the only known (or readily heard about) gay bar in naples. On August 31st at 2am, it closed. But it always had a great business model...find your niche, stick with it, and always make it better. But, why then, did it close. For one, it is Naples...they've been trying to find a way to close that place for a long time. In august, their lease wasn't renewed by the building owner(s). So now, their heading up to where Calvin's Crab Shack is. Good choice? They still have their niche...the place is MUCH bigger, and it might be more accepted by the Naples community up there (the old galley was in the heart of the upper-class 5th ave south district). But will they survive? If their business model targets their core audience AND they keep their famous shows and karaoke, the Galley has a very good chance. So, for any new business owners out there...find your niche, improve it, and adapt...adapt...change. The Galley did...let's just see how well they do with their gay recipe of success.
