Florida Everglades Seafood Festival - Review

I just arrived back from the seafood festival down in the everglades. During the event, there are more than 60000 people who attend...and believe me, it's true! The first thing you'll notice is that the traffic is quite unbearable...especially if you have the temper of the driver in front of me. Personally, I thought this guy's head was going to pop off. I've never heard so many profanities in my life! At least it kept me entertained for the hour-long stop and go traffic.

When I arrived (parking was $5...not too bad), I reviewed the area and noticed that it looked just like your local carnival...but with alot of bikers. The food was above quality festival food and there were a ton of vendors. Although the bikers were around, it's not too bad of a place to bring the kids. They had some rides, vendors selling their latest and greatest, and even had a nice museum to tell about the everglades.

As with most of the carnival-types out there, the people make the difference. Generally, people were in a great mood due to the great music playing that day. I personally believe anyone feels great when the weather isn't below zero (unlike our good friends up north). All in all, I got a good vibe from all.

Review conclusion:
I give it a 6 out of 10. I've got to be honest here folks. The traffic stunk from and to the seafood festival. But the atmosphere when I arrived was above average. The main question I have is "why would I drive through all that bad traffic when I can get the same thing much closer"? And, considering that the collier county festival AND the edison festival (in fort myers) were in the same weekend, I might give them a try first.
