Need Advice? Try Google Tip Jar
If you're looking for some quick advice on finance, tech, health, food, etc., give the Google Tip Jar a chance. Not only can you view the advice, but it's rated. So the good stuff stays on top while the "eh, not really" stuff doesn't get listed so well. Here's some advice that I never knew about that might come in handy...
Finance
"Never pay checking account fees. And if the bank happens to charge you one, ask them to reverse the fee or take your business to another bank."
Tech
"Recycle your electronics for free with the USPS mail back program. You can use free envelopes found in 1,500 Post Offices to mail back inkjet cartridges, PDAs, Blackberries, digital cameras, iPods and MP3 players – without having to pay for postage."
Food
"Eat out one fewer time each month. If it costs you $25 to eat out, but only $5 to eat in, then the $20 you save each month allows you to almost completely fund a $500 emergency savings account."
Kids & Family
"Socialize at pot-luck meals rather than at restaurants. Because one wants to be generous to friends and family, there may be huge cost savings here."
